Second Edition of CII TN Fitness and Sports Summit to be held on 10th March 2020 in Chennai.

After a successful first edition of CII Sports Summit, which happened at Delhi in 2019, the CII is gearing up for its second edition, set to take place in Chennai. Known as the "CII TN Fitness and Sports Summit 2020," the event will take place on Tuesday, 10th March 2020, at the Taj Coromandel, Chennai.

This year's summit is organized by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Tamil Nadu, with the theme being "Towards Fit India."

With the Indian Government actively promoting fitness and sports initiatives in the country like Khelo India and Fit India, there is a strong emphasis on improving the standards of sports in the country, and thereby unlocking the $10 billion opportunity for the Indian Sports sector. Digital technologies will be a key driving factor spearheading this movement, and the tech startup-rich city of Chennai is fortunate to host the 2020 summit.

During the launch of the Fit India movement, our Hon. Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi said, "Success is related to fitness, success stories of all of our icons from any field of life have a common thread- most of them are fit, have a focus on fitness and are fond of fitness."

On the same lines, the CII TN Fitness and Sports Summit 2020 will focus on 4 key sessions,

  • $10 Billion Opportunity in Indian Sport
  • Fostering the Sports and Fitness Ecosystem
  • How can Organisations Improve Sports and Fitness?
  • How Sports Transforms Lives?

In addition to the sessions, there will be an exposition featuring the Sports and Fitness startup fraternity showcasing their offerings. Panel discussions focusing on Fitness and Sports, along with product launches and networking with subject matter experts and business heads, will be some of the biggest outcomes from this one-day summit.

Some of the emerging startups will be showcasing their capabilities and offerings in their respective stalls during the event. Since Chennai has a significant number of evolving Sports-Tech startups, this event can help the city to become the "Sports-Tech Capital" in-addition to the "SAAS Capital" badge which Chennai has already earned.

The summit will witness sports and fitness professionals along with personalities from the government, private sector, and academia, gracing the event, with the common goal of creating the mechanisms to improve the Sports and Fitness performance in India.
