Participants are lining up for their ultimate fitness challenge for 2020 as India’s largest obstacle running event – The Maruti Suzuki Arena Devils Circuit takes on a new avatar. An aspirational event for fitness enthusiasts, the property attracts over 50,000 participants from across India as well as other countries each year.
The grand Finale of season 2019-20 presents itself in a new online avatar, adding additional dimensions to the popular event, and for the first time allowing the community to come together from all across the world on the same day!
This edition of the much-awaited event has been specially curated to give the participants a true Devils Circuit experience.
Speaking on the launch of the finale, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “We are very excited to launch this new format with the team at Devils Circuit. During the last several months, there has been a major shift towards digital consumption in the space of health and fitness. In keeping with the Swift’s philosophy of pushing your limits, we see the participants at the Devils Circuit races push themselves beyond their physical and mental limits to realise their true potential. We are glad this edition of The Maruti Suzuki Arena Devils Circuit has created an opportunity for people to come together globally to participate in this virtual edition”
The edition shall kick off on the 19th of December at 7:00 am through a 3-hour Facebook live that aims to capture the essence and excitement of the actual Devils Circuit expo on the event day. Joining the Tribe leader Adnan Adeeb shall be celebrity guest Chitrangada Singh who will interact with and encourage the participants.
“I have been a part of many live events, but this will be my first virtual obstacle race. As the daughter of an army officer, fitness is very close to my heart and obstacle running is something I have seen from close quarters as a challenging and exciting format of running! I look forward to being part of this incredible tribe of swiftdevilslayers and imbibing their never quit, never leave anyone behind attitude. Look forward to meeting you all on the 19th." said celebrity guest and co-host Chitrangada Singh.
Emerging as a truly global movement, the winner of this years’ edition in fact hails from Germany. Lucas Kempe, a debutant this season is a globally known name in obstacle course running.
Keeping the theme of 5 kilometers and 15 obstacles intact, all participants will run 5 kms (outdoor, on a treadmill or on the spot) wherever they can. Additionally, participants will be sent a list of 15 obstacles through e-mail and WhatsApp on the morning of the event. The obstacles will be predefined functional challenges that have been curated keeping in mind the various levels of difficulty each actual offline obstacle would have offered.
“Via this virtual edition of The Maruti Suzuki Arena Devils Circuit, we are staying true to the ethos of our tribe where the obstacles are many but ultimately, we do make it to the finish line. After successfully conducting more than 50 editions of the Devils Circuit across the country, we have modified the format and made it digitally accessible to everyone. This will allow for maximum people to participate and be part of our ultimate showdown. With participants from across 47 cities and 8 countries coming together, I am looking forward to making this edition truly memorable. Once finished, the participants will have to upload their details on the Devils Circuit Website to get their medal, digital certificate, and an opportunity to win more prizes.
The top Male & Female participant will receive a Maruti Suzuki Swift and total cash prize worth Rs 4,50,000/- will be distributed among the top 5 male & top 5 female participants.
