The goal of the 5th edition of Bhumi India Run is to raise funds for the underprivileged communities that have been most affected amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our world is facing many crises at the moment – the COVID-19 pandemic is accentuating an educational disruption, economic downturn and rising inequality. Children in about 62% of Indian households have discontinued education amidst the outbreak. Millions of children, especially those in shelter homes and underprivileged communities, don't have access to the necessary network or technical infrastructure to attend online classes. And the last 3 months can disrupt children's learning by upto 1.5 years. With many lives and livelihoods at risk, it is our responsibility to step up, protect and save lives.
Happening between the 2nd and 4th October 2020, the 5th edition of Bhumi India Run will take place virtually, during Daan Utsav - India’s Festival of Giving. Bhumi India Run strives to promote fitness while driving social change. People can choose to become a runner-giver by participating in the Bhumi India Run. Their contributions will enable the virtual learning of children in shelter homes through Bhumi's supplementary education program - Ignite and transform the livelihoods of those severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
At Bhumi, we believe that every act of giving adds up to something powerful. Harnessing the power of sports, we are committed to advancing equality within communities.
You can register at https://run.bhumi.ngo and join us in improving education and empowering lives across India. After all, giving is a team sport.
