Are you a Predator or a Buddha?
I am Predator. I have an aggressive behaviour on court. It’s been like that from day 1, so I’m very comfortable being aggressive on the court.
Any pre-match rituals you follow?
Yes, I always rub my wristband on my right hand with my abdomen before serving on a crucial point during a tournament. I also, wear my socks upside down before big matches.
One win that you are very proud of
Well, I have two of those. I am proud of victory last November and my first two ITF Juniors Singles titles that I won in Bangladesh this February.
The belief that my dad and I have in my potential is something that has taken us this far.
In what area of the game do you think you have to improve?
I need to improve my serve, it is the key to winning matches in the pro circuit. I am also working on the overall improvement of my game.
Is sport a natural talent or a skill that is developed?
I think it is a natural talent, which is developed over time by putting some seriously hard work.
Your biggest inspiration
Fabrice Santoro is my biggest inspiration. Santoro is one of the few players whose style will have a lasting legacy. He has fascinating techniques, which I find very impressive.
What are the most common roadblocks for athletes?
An athlete needs the right amount of exposure, funds and positive sporting environment to be successful. If they lack any of these resources, I think, they'll suffer.
Your most prized possession
My trophies are my most prized possession. They remind me of victories which motivate me.
Who had the greatest influence in your life?
My dad has the biggest influence in my life, he kept pushing me forward no matter the circumstances. And also the entire management and faculty of Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association and they have always supported and been there for me.
A tattoo you would like to get
I would like to get Stan Wawrinka's tattoo. His tattoo says,

The Rocky Balboa Series. The movie shows the life of talented and aspiring sports people, the difficulties they face, the hard work they put in, their commitment and its fruitful outcomes. The movie is very motivating and inspiring!
Your short and long-term goals
My short-term goals are to play a junior grand slam in the coming year and to get into a good college in the United States. My long-term goals are my lifetime ambitions, which will be fulfilled, only if my short-term goals are met.
Your predictions on 'Olympics TOKYO 2020'
Well, we should expect a good performance from our athletes in the Tokyo Olympic Games, especially in tennis. I think they have a good shot at medals in the doubles, for sure.
What is your funniest childhood memory?
Once, I played the role of young Simba in the musicals of “The Lion King" in the 4th grade, during our school's Golden Jubilee celebrations. It was really funny.

I will never forget the moment when I won my first ITF Juniors singles title.

Have you ever sat by the phone all night waiting for someone to call?
Yes, I've waited, but certainly not all night, because I usually have practice the next morning. Again not falling for this trap.
What would you do if you won the lottery?
I would buy a Bugatti Sports Veyron 10.6v12.

I think its Yuki Bhambri. He is a very talented and committed player.
